Presented by Maggie Philbin (of Tomorrows World fame) this DVD takes cardiac patients on an informative yet reassuring journey through cardiac surgery at Nottingham City Hospital.

The film follows the experiences of our actor ‘patient’ as he progresses from first consultation through to
post-operative care. Cardiac ward staff as well as real patients who have undergone surgery on the ward, also
recount their experiences.

Filming took place entirely on location in the hospitals fully operational cardiac ward. One of the most important elements of the project was carrying out the filming without disrupting the ward or being obtrusive to patients.
