We’ve been nominated for two Royal Television Society Midlands Awards.
Having won on two previous occasions and being nominated last year, we’re hoping this year will give us the hat-trick. (or more)
The Royal Television Society honours broadcast and non-broadcast programme producers, and we have been nominated twice in the Best Promotional Programme category.
This is great news for Nottingham and not just for VPoint TV, because both of the nominated productions were produced on behalf of two well-established Nottingham businesses.
The first production on the shortlist features Hillarys, best known as designers and manufacturers of blinds, curtains and shutters. It was filmed over several months across numerous Nottinghamshire locations and featuring real customers, Hillarys staff, actors, 3D animation and an original music composition.
The second nominated film is for ArtSystems, another Nottingham-based company that specialises in vinyl cutting and imaging equipment for the sign, outdoor advertising and aerospace markets.
The production team here at VPoint TV are delighted that two of their productions have been recognised in this way. Sally Reynolds, writer and director of the Hillarys film said: ‘It’s always fantastic to receive a nomination from the Royal Television Society – and even better to win, because it’s recognition from other professionals in our industry that our standard of work is high’.
Sally’s colleague, Paul Young, director of the ArtSystems video said: ‘I am thrilled that this video has been nominated. It was a real creative and technical challenge to make this big machine look visually interesting, but we did it! One of my productions (for Nottingham Trent University) was nominated for an award last year, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll bring home the trophy this year!’
The Royal Television Society Awards will take place on Thursday 30th October at the National Motorcycle Museum, near Solihull in the West Midlands. Can we convert our award nomination into a win? Fingers crossed.
